Looking for supplies to prepare your garden for the winter?
GreenThumb's giving away icebreakers, garbage bags, gloves, calcium chloride, and snow shovels.
For registered GreenThumb community gardens only: Come to the GreenThumb compound in Long Island City to pick up basic gardening and maintenance supplies for your garden over the winter. One pickup per garden group, while supplies last.
Please carpool with other garden groups that may not have access to transportation. Call GreenThumb if you need the contact information of gardeners near you.

- Credit Card Management and Identity Theft Prevention Workshop
Is your mailbox and e-mail flooded on a regular basis by complex offers for credit?
Have you or a friend or a family member had their Social Security number or some other personal information used to open credit cards and other financial accounts under your name?
The New York State Consumer Protection Board (CPB), the State’s top consumer watchdog and "think tank,” will advise consumers how to choose and use credit wisely, as well as why and how to check your credit report. In addition, the CPB, which operates the State’s new Identity Theft Prevention and Mitigation Program, will provide information and resources to help New Yorkers prevent identity theft and assist victims in addressing the consequences of this crime.

-Message Framing: Frame your group's message about an issue in a way that is compelling and that generates support for your work and goals.
-Media Activism: Use newspapers, television, radio, and the internet to influence public opinion about issues important to your community, and to pressure elected representatives to support positive policies for your community.
-Media Alerts and Events: Write press releases and organize press conferences to raise awareness about or generate support for an issue or event that your group is involved in.

- Community Farmers' Market End of Season Ceremony and Celebration
- Join us on December 19th to celebrate the closing of the first season of our market. We will have the usual array of fresh fruits and vegetables, herbs, ciders, and cheeses for sale. There will also be a juice bar made with market produce, and some festive holiday items.
