30q122

Grant Year:  2017

30q122 is hosting DIY hobby events for parents, students, and community members. Participants are learning watercolor and acrylic painting, sewing, airplane model making, birdhouse building, and origami. This project is fostering hands on creativity in youth, and providing an opportunity for parents and children to participate in fun, free activities together.

Grant Year:  2016

30q122 is hosting their third annual series of DIY hobby nights with teachers at its local school. Parents, students, and community members participate in the classes offered at the hobby night fair. The group is bringing people of different backgrounds, ages and cultures together in order to foster a sense of community. It provides access to the arts to a community that otherwise could not afford similar classes and introduces handicraft skills to a technology-driven generation of youth.

Grant Year:  2015

30q122 is organizing two free hobby nights for children and their parents at PS 122. Families from the school and surrounding community are engaging in hands-on activities such as model making, carpentry, and acrylic painting. These nights not only provide quality time for families, but also give access to arts to a community that otherwise could not afford similar classes.

Grant Year:  2014

30q122 is organizing a DIY craft night, encouraging children and families to create arts and crafts together and revive cultural traditions. They are inviting families from the school and surrounding community to take part in free workshops to learn weaving, embroidery, and other arts.

Grant Year:  2013

30q122 is hosting do-it-yourself handicraft workshops for children and their families. The workshops, on subjects such as embroidery, knitting, and tile mosaics, are bringing community members together and ensuring that handicrafts from the past aren’t lost.
