Have an idea to improve your neighborhood? We want to hear about it, whether it’s community gardening, after-school yoga, or beekeeping. Citizens Committee awards up to $3,000 to resident-led groups for a variety of community building projects in low-income neighborhoods.

Active Design Awards

Our 2017 application is now closed.

Promote physical activity and healthy living among children from pre-k through high school. Citizens Committee, in collaboration with the NYC Department of Health and support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is awarding grants from $2,500 to $4,000 to support active design projects in early childhood centers and public schools, primarily in low-income areas.

Hurricane Relief Grants
