You know your neighborhood best. And you have the ideas to improve it. Citizens Committee can help. We award micro-grants to resident-led groups in low-income neighborhoods to carry out community improvement projects.
From East Tremont in the Bronx to West Brighton on Staten Island, the groups we support are carrying out projects as varied as community gardening, theater and fine arts, nutrition awareness, composting, beautification, tenant organizing, youth education, physical fitness, public safety, and more!
We do not award grants to individuals, agencies with paid staff, or fraternal or partisan organizations. Review our grant guidelines.

In partnership with the Manhattan Solid Waste Advisory Board (SWAB) and Manhattan Borough President Scott M. Stringer, Citizens Commitee invites you to apply for grants to start, expand and grow composting programs in all five boroughs. Apply by March 22, 2013.

Citizens Committee, in partnership with the City of New York, awards grants of $1000 to volunteer-led community groups seeking to beautify their neighborhoods. Selected groups also benefit from receiving special services from the Departments of Transportation, Sanitation, and Parks & Recreation. The deadline to apply for 2013 has passed.
