Citizens Committee for New York City awards grants up to $3,000 to neighborhood-based or faith-based immigrant and non-immigrant groups to collaborate on community projects that improve the quality of life for all New Yorkers. Partner with one or many groups and come up with an idea. Resident-led groups throughout NYC are encouraged to apply.

Previously funded projects include:

  • $2,000 to clean a waterfront site
  • $2,500 to organize a flower and tree planting program led by youth and seniors
  • $1,500 to host a tenants' rights discussion for recent immigrants
  • $3,000 to transform an abandoned lot into a nutritious garden

The deadline to apply for 2013 has passed.
