The Osborn Elliott Building Block Awards

The Osborn Elliott Building Block Awards are made in honor of Citizens Committee for New York City’s founder, Osborn “Oz” Elliott. Oz was an outspoken advocate for New York City throughout his life, and these awards are given to groups who best represent Oz’s vision for revitalizing cities, block by block.

The Osborn Elliott Building Blocks Awards will be given annually to ten outstanding resident-led volunteer neighborhood groups in low-income neighborhoods throughout New York City.

These ten groups will be chosen based on their project ideas, history with Citizens Committee, and their collective energy and talent in launching local improvement projects that have a significant impact on New York City’s struggling communities. Awardees will be announced at our annual Neighborhood Awards Reception at the Municipal Arts Society in June.
