64th Street Community Garden is improving their garden by adding fruit trees, a rose garden, and a tunnel to protect vegetable vines. The group is encouraging children to garden by upgrading the shed to have specific kid-size storing space to install in them garden responsibility.

64th Street Community Garden is partnering with youth from a local school to upgrade its garden and attract songbirds. The youth are designing birdhouses and working with garden members to re-seed barren patches with grass.

64th Street Community Garden is becoming more energy efficient by installing a solar power kit in the garden. The kit produces electricity to charge power tools and computers for the youth program that is hosted in the garden.

64th Street Community Garden is building an outdoor classroom for student groups in an effor to faciliate their connection with science concepts using a sensory-based approach. The outdoor classroom is a shaded area that provides shelter from the sun and rain and includes energy from a solar panel to power laptops that may be needed for school lessons.
