P.S. 32 is adding raised beds to the garden in this Title I elementary school, where nearly half of the students have special needs. Students are working in the garden, participating in nutritional workshops, documenting the process through weekly journals and photographs, and taking stewardship of the environment. Through this project, they hope to become a “Garden to Cafe” school where students will be responsible for incorporating the harvest into the cafeteria's lunchtime offerings.
