Citizens for a Better Community Garden

Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn

Project snapshot

Citizens for a Better Community Garden implements integrated edible and ecological landscaping: tree surround and ridge-mound planting, a foraging path with berries, herbs, and vining edibles on the perimeter fence, a dragonfly-supporting pond with aquatic plants and rice fish for biocontrol, pollinator gardens with bee boxes, rainwater-harvesting infrastructure, and benches. The project increases urban biodiversity, enhances neighborhood food access, provides sustainable mosquito and stormwater management, and creates resilient community green space for education and well-being.
