Public School Green Team Grant

Citizens Committee is collaborating with the New York City Department of Sanitation to award grants of up to $1,000 for projects carried out by public school green teams. Examples of projects we will support include building or expanding a school garden, enhancing a school recycling program, creating school sustainability events, purchasing eco-friendly giveaway items, and providing uniforms/t-shirts for the Green Team.

Important Deadlines:

  • Friday, November 16, 5PM - Fall Green Team Mini-Grant Deadline

IMPORTANT! Join DSNY's Bureau of Recycling and Sustainability on Wednesday, November 7th at 4:30PM for a Green Team Mini-Grant Information Session. Learn about the role of a Green Team, how to apply for the grant, and how to get more funding through Zero Waste Schools contests during this helpful workshop. This workshop is for NYC public school faculty, and the first 30 attendees will receive a free tote bag. Attendance is recommended, but NOT mandatory, for prospective applicants. You can RSVP using this link.
