We're eternally grateful to Citizens Committee for making our dreams for a greener Queens into a reality by gifting SustyQ with our first grant for The Critical Moss. Through these funds, we have been able to clean and green our neighborhood, install moss graffiti designs, and create guerrilla gardens as healing spaces which inspire interaction and action. The conversations and new friendships are blossoming like wildflowers!
Support Us

Your support brings great, local ideas to life.
When you donate to Citizens Committee, you know your gift is helping New Yorkers strengthen their communities. And your donation – big or small – goes a long way.
With a little bit of startup cash and a lot of elbow grease, the groups we support make a big impact in their neighborhoods and schools. Whether it’s a women-led urban farm in the South Bronx or a mile-long mural designed by students in East New York, you are helping everyday residents in the poorest neighborhoods make their vision a reality.

Hear from a few of our GRANTEES
Anandi Premlall
Working with Citizens Committee has been such a wonderful experience for Feed Your Mind Music. With our grant award, we set up three workshops within the Bushwick, Park Slope and Flatbush sections of Brooklyn. The grant was instrumental in the purchase of music books and instruments for children in under- served communities. CCNYC is also a great resource for grassroots community based organizations like Feed Your Mind Music, providing no cost workshops, valuable information, professional advice and an excellent line of communication and follow up.

For over four years, Citizen Committee has supported and guided our community building projects and grassroots advocacy in the Vernon & Throop and Tranquility Farm Gardens in Central Brooklyn. Without the help and support of Citizens Committee, grassroots advocacy groups like ours in New York City would not have been able to grow our respective organizations in fostering the ideals of sustainable practices and good citizenry.

The Manhattanville Resident Green Committee received its first grant through Citizens Committee. With this grant we planted 5 community gardens in the development to beautify it and make it a more welcoming place to live and visit. Thanks to Citizens Committee, we will be able to plant more gardens and continue with this beautification project.
