Citizens Committee For New York City Raises $630,000 at Annual All-In For New York City Cocktail Reception

NEW YORK — Citizens Committee for New York City (CitizensNYC), a micro-funding organization dedicated to empowering everyday New Yorkers to strengthen their neighborhoods, proudly announces the success of its “All In For New York City Fall Cocktail” event. This year’s celebration united the financial restructuring community to raise over $630,000, providing crucial resources to fuel grassroots initiatives across the five boroughs.

Chaired by Paul H. Deutch, Executive Vice President at Omni Agent Solutions and CitizensNYC board member, the event honored two exceptional leaders: Brian J. Fox, Managing Director at Alvarez & Marsal North American Commercial Restructuring Practice (NACR), and Jeffrey D. Saferstein, Partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP’s Restructuring Group. Their commitment to this city and support of CitizensNYC’s vision made them stand out as this year’s honorees.

“It’s a privilege to see firsthand how CitizensNYC empowers New Yorkers to make lasting change in their own communities,” said Brian Fox. “This organization understands that investing in local leaders creates a ripple effect of transformation, and I’m honored to support this incredible work.”

Jeffrey Saferstein added, “When you invest in grassroots leadership, you’re not just funding projects—you’re investing in a stronger, more connected city. CitizensNYC’s impact proves that even small acts of community-driven change have the power to make a big difference.”

“Raising more than $630,000 is a testament to the incredible generosity of the financial restructuring industry and our supporters,” said CitizensNYC CEO Julie Shapiro. “These funds empower local leaders to address critical issues and strengthen our communities. Thank you to our honorees, Brian and Jeffrey, our event chair Paul Deutch, and our leadership sponsors, Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, Alvarez & Marsal, and Ropes & Gray for believing in our mission and investing in a stronger, more vibrant New York City.”

CitizensNYC’s work is made possible by the generosity of the sponsors of our All-In For New York City Cocktail Fundraiser event from the corporate restructuring industry, including the leadership support of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, Alvarez & Marsal, and Ropes & Gray.
