Project snapshot

I’m requesting funding for a beautification initiative on Castleton Ave, a bustling area frequented by diverse locals. Our goal is to transform empty tree beds into vibrant flower plots, enhancing the street?s appeal and fostering community pride. We plan to mobilize community support by leveraging our 45,000 social media followers and partnerships with local entities like Forest Ave Bid and SIBOC. We will involve local volunteers in planting and maintaining the beds, organizing clean-up days, gardening workshops, and adopt-a-plot programs to encourage active community participation. Our choice of low-maintenance, perennial flowers, guided by NYC Parks recommendations, ensures sustainable beauty with minimal upkeep. With Richmond Hood’s strong community engagement background, we are well-equipped to lead this impactful project.
