Project snapshot

James Baldwin Outdoor Learning Center’s The Mosholu Teaching Forest Project is an adaptation process to transform an abused and neglected urban forest area. Through explorative and learning nature walks, participants will broaden their knowledge of trees and plants, wildlife, and the important beneficial role a healthy urban forest can play in connecting with nature. Additionally, they will learn about healthier diets through interactions with other neighbors. This project empowers community members to become involved in restoring the forest area and deepen their connection to the environment.
