Project snapshot
Universe City NYC is an ecological public health laboratory in East New York dedicated to urban farm education and entrepreneurship development. They engage with the community through programs, partnerships, and events to address food insecurity and create a self-sustainable food system. The grant would support rebuilding their aquaponic farm, expanding their hydroponic and mycology systems, and enhancing their facility, including an ADA-accessible kitchen and commercial kitchen, to increase their capacity to provide nutritious food to schools and shelters.
