Mulberry Street Block Association, Inc.

Little Italy, Manhattan

Project snapshot

Our project aims to beautify and restore Mulberry Street by revitalizing plants, organizing cleanups, and expanding the NYPD-supported neighborhood watch program. We will re-soil plant structures, increase greenery, and improve air quality. Community cleanup events will address litter and graffiti, enhancing the area?s appearance. Expanding the neighborhood watch will protect local, minority-owned businesses. To achieve this, we?ll recruit local residents and business owners as volunteers, fostering stronger community relationships. Volunteers will work on a rotating schedule, allowing everyone to connect and collaborate. Community members will be involved in decision-making to ensure their voices are heard. Sustainability relies on passionate volunteers and our annual budget, which will maintain these improvements year-round with initial investments from the grant.
