Edible Schoolyard NYC @ PS 216 Arturo Toscanini

Gravesend, Brooklyn

Project snapshot

Our garden, primarily used for daily educational programming, needs improvements to become more welcoming for the community, especially during summer. I plan to add shaded seating and activity areas to make the garden inviting and comfortable. This will allow us to expand our programming, providing a cool, enjoyable space even on hot days. My goals are to enhance the garden to attract more community members, create a comfortable, shaded public area, and expand our summer programming. These improvements will increase community engagement and participation, enhance the garden?s usability, and raise awareness of volunteer opportunities and events. We will promote our efforts through our weekly farm stand, school signage, flyers, and social media. ESYNYC and P.S. 216 are committed to fostering community involvement, ensuring our garden remains a vibrant, inclusive space for all.
