Project snapshot

In January 2023, I saw firsthand the power of community solidarity when the PS20M PTA stepped up to support over 100 asylum-seeking families new to our school. We initiated a donation drive, transforming a simple room into the P.S. 20 Store?a haven supplying essentials like backpacks, diapers, and clothing to those in need, helping our school families and extending aid through a collaboration with Aid For Life. This non-profit holds weekly events at our school, offering food, clothing, and legal assistance to migrants. Despite facing challenges like minimal infrastructure, our ambitious plan involves enhancing the store with necessary fittings to ensure a dignified and efficient service.
