Project snapshot

At PS97, we center social-emotional learning and literacy in all that we do. Recognizing the critical importance of children reading at grade level by third grade, we?ve launched the ?Early Childhood Library? to instill a love for reading among our young students. We’ve created a unique outdoor space where students can enjoy books independently, with peers, or be read to. Family volunteers help build library boxes filled with books in multiple languages for borrowing, sharing, or keeping. Additionally, special events like family fun nights encourage community bonding through activities such as painting ?kindness? rocks. Our ongoing efforts aim to cultivate a community of lifelong readers, supported by donations from our dedicated staff.
