Project snapshot

The influx of Chinese migrants has increased significantly. They often arrive without support networks and face language barriers. Our goal is to address these challenges through community support, cultural integration programs, and accessible resources to help them navigate their new environment. We’ve partnered with retired NYPD staff and ESL teachers to create a tailored program for Chinese migrants. The program focuses on civic education, social interactions, and daily life routines. This enhances their understanding of public services, healthcare, and education, facilitating smoother assimilation into New York City life. We collaborate with the local Chinese press and religious institutions and use WeChat for outreach. Community events and volunteer opportunities will foster a sense of belonging. We seek partnerships with local businesses to sustain the program and explore nominal fees for advanced courses.
