Loisaida United Neighborhood Gardens

East Village, Manhattan

Project snapshot

The LUNGS CSA (Community-Supported Agriculture) program offers affordable, fresh produce on a weekly basis, providing a healthy alternative for individuals in food deserts. Open to everyone, participants can enjoy the benefits of farm-fresh produce without committing to a seasonal share. For $12 per week, households receive a bagful of diverse vegetables and fruit sourced from local farms that sell at NYC green markets and specialty markets. Operated by volunteers, this initiative aims to bring nutritional food to families’ tables while fostering community engagement and support.
