At Canvas Institute, we’re deeply committed to celebrating the diversity and culture of Staten Island’s immigrant communities, while actively working to dispel the stereotypes and misconceptions that often lead to division. Through our Voices of Unity project, we will be a bridge of understanding by providing a platform where the stories and perspectives of immigrant leaders are highlighted. Our goal is to challenge negative narratives, foster inclusivity, and promote empathy within our community. By leveraging our network, collaborating with advocacy groups, and utilizing social media, we’re engaging a wide audience in this crucial dialogue. The project strengthens community relationships through shared experiences and intergenerational interaction and also ensures lasting impact by fostering ongoing engagement and securing resources for future initiatives.
