N A M E G L O is a neon lighting studio that creates and manufactures glass neon and LED lights and signs. They are seeking a grant to fund a part-time staff member for sales/marketing and new software. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they retooled their shop to make face shields for healthcare workers and donated over 2,500 via their “NY’s Kindest” campaign. They also collaborated with local organizations such as Urban Glass in Brooklyn to donate neon work and Powrplnt to provide access to art/media. They have also partnered with Geex, a Glass nonprofit, to offer professional experience for graduates from neon programs and have hired one graduate as a full-time employee. Through these efforts, they are helping open up access to the niche Glass production and Art production industries.
