Project snapshot

Equity Design is a capacity-building social enterprise that focuses on improving lives through physical activity, particularly in under-resourced BIPOC communities in NYC. With the grant funding, they plan to hire two AmeriCorps employees, one to focus on visibility and growth strategy through research and marketing and the other to sustain programming and training at partner schools and organizations. Their goal is to create healthy schools and communities by designing sustainable physical activity programs in low-engagement, high-disparity communities. Additionally, they will support the development of an interactive walking track at PS 032X in the Bronx, providing a safer space for physical activity and engaging the school, families, and the community.
