Beyond the Black Box

Beyond the Black Box takes on an essential role in our community, particularly during the “BBB Week” held at Triskelion Arts. This pivotal event celebrates and elevates Black artists, who often face daunting financial barriers that prevent them from showcasing their talents. The dance community leans heavily towards supporting large institutions, leaving smaller-scale, especially Black artists, strapped for resources and visibility. BBB steps in to fill this void, providing a much-needed platform for these underrepresented voices. Attending events, promoting each other?s work, and sharing in communal healing practices are just some of the ways we uplift one another.
