Electric Ladybug Garden

Electric Ladybug Garden is engaging various generations in the community and sustaining their involvement with a year-long series of events including jazz nights for senior and film screenings for families. In addition the group, the group is hosting intergenerational, organic growing and cooking lessons to improve local health outcomes.

Electric Ladybug Garden is introducing new programming to better reflect the diversity of its community. The programming includes multi-ethnic culinary socials, family entertainment events, and healthy eating and youth gardening workshops.

Electric Ladybug Garden is building new garden beds for community use, making improvements to its water tank, and creating child-friendly signage in the garden. These improvements are making the space more family and child-friendly and encouraging newer community members to use the garden.

Electric Ladybug Garden is transforming a 30 year old trash-ridden lot into a community garden. Group members have been planning and organizing for this project since early 2012. This garden will not only provide fresh and locally grown produce to the community but will also serve to mitigate crime.
