Project snapshot
Crown Heights Neighbors will protect and expand street-tree canopy by installing and decorating tree guards, mulching and decompacting soil, planting native pollinator species in tree beds, and constructing communal seating. The project integrates resident-led workshops, outreach via flyers and WhatsApp groups, and hands-on build/plant events to increase green infrastructure, biodiversity, stormwater infiltration, and social cohesion. Outcomes include improved tree health, enhanced pollinator habitat, accessible public seating, and strengthened neighborhood networks enabling sustained collective stewardship.
