Upper West Side, Manhattan

Project snapshot

Synergy Shaded Community Garden establishes organic raised and elevated beds and delivers hands-on carpentry and power/hand-tool training while conducting outreach to recruit participants. The project constructs multiple modular garden beds, sources clean soil and materials, and coordinates with site management for access and pest and landscape services. It advances urban agriculture skills, promotes health and wellness, creates local food and floral production, provides vocational skill-building, and enhances block beautification, increasing food access, community cohesion, and neighborhood resilience.
