Project snapshot

Amaya?s Bookreads, Inc.’s Read It, Grow It project is a public programming initiative which seeks to break the barriers of illiteracy and unhealthy eating and living by conducting workshops on reading and growing food in New York Restoration Project’s community gardens. This program will engage 20 participating youth in hour and a half workshops once a week, teaching them to eat and live healthier, boost their literacy levels, and have a sense of community pride.
