Project snapshot
Ashe Birthing Services will develop and launch a hybrid doula training program created by and for BIPOC birthworkers. The program integrates culturally resonant ancestral practices, clinical foundations, trauma‑informed frameworks, and community accountability. Project activities include evidence‑based curriculum design, hybrid instructional infrastructure, outreach to Bronx and NYC learners, and stipends for legacy elders and BIPOC perinatal leaders. By preparing community-based doulas to provide culturally grounded perinatal care, the project expands workforce capacity, improves perinatal outcomes, and disrupts systemic harm in marginalized communities.
