Project snapshot
BeeFavored is expanding its BeeFavored HarvestED program to tackle food insecurity, environmental sustainability, and community empowerment in Harlem through hands-on education. This initiative will offer workshops on urban beekeeping, soil-less farming, and pollinator-friendly gardening, equipping marginalized communities and youth with practical skills in sustainable agriculture. Using specialized STEM kits, participants will engage in interactive learning that promotes environmental stewardship. Additionally, the project will introduce a pilot program repurposing plant waste into eco-friendly fabrics, demonstrating sustainability’s role in reducing waste and promoting ethical fashion. By integrating STEM education, sustainable practices, and community engagement, this initiative fosters economic opportunities, environmental awareness, and long-term impact in urban communities.
