Project snapshot

Bronx Special Kids is expanding its commitment to neurodivergent children through Seeds of Independence, a hands-on program that nurtures confidence, life skills, and financial literacy. This initiative provides children with the opportunity to engage in gardening, arts, and entrepreneurship in a sensory-friendly environment tailored to their needs. Participants will grow produce, create crafts, and develop products like jams and candles, which they will sell at monthly farmers’ markets. By offering adaptive gardening tools, sensory-friendly workspaces, and mentorship, the program ensures inclusivity for children with higher support needs. Beyond teaching practical skills, Seeds of Independence will create a sense of accomplishment and belonging, allowing participants to take pride in their work while gaining real-world experience in business planning and financial literacy.
