Crown Heights CARE Collective has an initiative called Crown Heights Block Power, which will strengthen neighborhood connections and empower local residents through block-by-block organizing. Rooted in the belief that strong communities begin at the street level, this project aims to revitalize and expand block associations across Crown Heights, providing residents with the tools and support needed to create safer, more engaged neighborhoods. Building on past successes, Block Power will establish an accessible online database of existing block associations, assist neighbors in forming new ones, provide resources for block-level initiatives, and organize regular Block Power Summits. These summits will bring together community members to collaborate on projects like tenant support, neighborhood beautification, and local events.
