Project snapshot

Our project focuses on greening and community bonding in Crown Heights, where heat is a major issue. We aim to protect existing trees and add new green spaces to cool the area and support pollinators. We’ll involve volunteers in building and decorating tree guards, creating seating areas, and setting up a reading spot. From May to September, story time with neighbors will foster connections, and kids will care for plant monsters. Our efforts strengthen relationships as neighbors work together. Events will be promoted through social media and flyers, ensuring community participation. Post-grant, we?ll set goals to expand our green initiatives and maintain community engagement, making our block a vibrant, united, and greener space.
