Project snapshot
Crown Heights Block Habitat Group implements a native plant initiative that integrates gardening, educational workshops, habitat design, stormwater management, composting, urban agriculture, signage, and community storytelling to increase canopy and native biodiversity, mitigate heat vulnerability, and attract pollinators. Neighbors co-design, build, and maintain raised beds and self-watering planters, distribute harvested food with emphasis on residents on fixed incomes, and coordinate with adjacent blocks to scale ecological and social resilience.
