Crown Heights neighbors, Pacific Street between Brooklyn and Kingston Avenues

Crown Heights, Brooklyn

Project snapshot

Being a part of Crown Heights Neighbors has shown me firsthand the impact local engagement can have on a community, especially in areas like ours with a history of redlining. Our neighborhood has faced challenges with limited greenery and tree care, compounded by restrictions on planting new trees due to electrical lines beneath the sidewalks, making the protection of existing trees that much more important. With the initiative to install tree guards, we aim not just for immediate beautification but for a sustainable future supported by dedicated volunteers, including Tree Captains responsible for ongoing garden care.
