Project snapshot

Djoniba Dance and Drum Kids is a multicultural program for children ages 3-17, providing classes in dance, drumming, and martial arts across cultural, economic, and racial barriers. Our goal is to inspire discipline, confidence, self-respect, and unity through the arts. Seventy-five percent of students receive scholarships based on financial need, with over 800 children benefiting since inception. We also offer daily evening classes for adults, taught by 35 instructors covering over 100 weekly classes in various dance and drumming styles from around the world. Our cultural performances showcase the talent of our teachers and students through Ballet D’Afrique, founded by Djoniba Mouflet. The company has performed at prestigious venues like Lincoln Center and Walt Disney World, enriching our community and beyond.
