Project snapshot

DMT BeautySpot, a popular barbershop in Jamaica Queens, New York, plans to use grant funds to refurbish its storefront and expand the basement to include spa services, creating job opportunities and enhancing revenue. Beyond haircuts, the shop is highly community-oriented, annually hosting back-to-school events featuring free school supplies and haircuts. The business also supports local youths by offering free haircuts for job interviews, provides complimentary services to individuals with disabilities, and has even extended their services to nursing homes during the pandemic, receiving high praise from the community.
