Project snapshot

The Drew Community Garden is working on an innovative Food Forest project. Located in an area with limited access to fresh, affordable produce, our garden addresses diet-related health issues by providing abundant fresh, organic fruits and vegetables. This initiative promotes healthier eating habits and reduces food insecurity. Beyond nutrition, the Food Forest enhances green spaces, supports pollinator habitats, and educates on environmental stewardship. We engage the community through workshops, volunteer opportunities, and partnerships with local organizations. These efforts foster ownership, connection, and a shared purpose among residents. By establishing a stewardship committee and ongoing educational programs, we ensure the Food Forest’s sustainability, making it a lasting symbol of community collaboration and a model for urban agriculture.
