Project snapshot
Community Garden Collective expands a community garden’s food production and sustainability education by rebuilding and enlarging a weather-damaged chicken run to increase flock capacity and egg supply, purchasing seeds to scale community seed swaps, and implementing hands-on curricula for children on coop biosecurity, predator mitigation, sanitation, and nutrient recycling via composted poultry waste. Outcomes include increased local egg availability, strengthened food security, experiential STEM and ecological literacy for youth, and enhanced community resilience through distributed food production and seed sovereignty.
