Project snapshot
The Eldert Street Garden Association’s Renovation Project is a critical community initiative that is enhancing the local environment and fostering strong community ties. By overhauling the compost drop-off site, myself and our volunteers will handle increased volumes of food scraps, addressing the surplus resulting from halted city composting initiatives. Additionally, the renovation will extend to rebuilding community-operated raised beds, increasing green space and allowing for more community gardening opportunities. Our project also includes an ecological effort to minimize the Spotted Lanternfly infestation through the removal of a diseased Cottonwood tree. Another key feature is the completion of a Goldfish pond, adding an attractive and colorful element to the area.
