Project snapshot

Fotos y Recuerdos conducts a bilingual Photo Print and Archive Tour across three Pelham Gardens senior centers, delivering workshops staffed by 2–4 volunteers who assemble and distribute archival toolkits (five Polaroids, cotton gloves, acid‑free sleeves and box, thumb drive, magnifier). The program enables seniors to create community archives and intergenerational memory work to mitigate social isolation and cognitive and mental-health impacts (Alzheimer’s, dementia) exacerbated by pandemic-era service cuts, by providing subsidized archival materials and hands-on training to bolster resilience and cultural preservation.
