Project snapshot

Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club is spearheading communal science events to showcase the biodiversity in this environmentally challenged waterway. Community members are conducting water quality and turbidity experiments as well as biodiversity surveys. They are also collecting and quantifying floating debris and exploring underwater conditions. The group is publishing findings from these actives in a comprehensive report that details the current state of biodiversity in the canal.
