Project snapshot

The Hutchinson River Restoration Project (HRRP) is dedicated to preserving and restoring the Hutchinson River in NYC. Flowing through the Bronx into Eastchester Bay, the polluted river needs cleanup. Many locals are unaware of the river’s existence and importance. Our goal is to raise awareness, engage the community, and foster stewardship. By purchasing four canoes and paddles, I aim to introduce residents to the river through guided boating activities. These experiences will help them connect with nature and understand the river’s significance. Partnering with NYC Parks and Pelham Rangers, our annual cleanups have inspired many. With more community involvement, we can ensure the long-term health and vitality of the Hutchinson River.
