Project snapshot
The Jamaica Benevolent Arm and Cultural Center?s “Caribbean Stories in the Garden” program is an innovative evolution of our previous Summer Storytelling Series. It aims to bridge generational gaps and foster meaningful connections through the preservation of African and Caribbean stories. By moving to community gardens in the Bronx, we create spaces reminiscent of the islands where these tales originated, enhancing the authenticity of the experience. This program not only sparks curiosity and creativity among residents of all ages but also strengthens community bonds. Our strategic partnerships with local librarians, authors, and storytellers amplify our impact, ensuring a vibrant and inclusive environment. Through feedback-driven monthly events, we continue to enrich the community by celebrating and preserving cultural heritage.
