Project snapshot

James Baldwin Outdoor Learning Center (JBOLC) is committed to promoting holistic health through nutrition education and plant-based cooking. Led by Director Ray, a longtime advocate for healthier meals, and Assistant Director Sung, who discovered the joy of cooking through community engagement, JBOLC believes in the healing power of food. Following the success of its first JBOLC Health Festival, which featured a professional nutritionist, cooking demos, homemade food sharing, and herbal tea tastings, the initiative aims to expand into a regular program. With adequate funding, JBOLC will offer monthly or weekly sessions that provide accessible, hands-on nutrition education to the community. This initiative will foster healthier eating habits, communal learning, and holistic well-being, ensuring that more individuals have the knowledge and resources to make nutritious, plant-based meals a part of their daily lives.
