Project snapshot
Student Sustainability Collective undertakes installation of a modular chicken coop and vertical feed gardens to integrate locally sourced food systems into school curriculum. The project repurposes cafeteria waste as feed via safe processing, closes nutrient loops through composting of poultry waste for garden amendment, and provides vocational, hands-on learning in sustainable agriculture, waste reduction, and climate resilience. Community volunteers support construction, operations, and educational outreach, reducing costs and improving local food security and environmental stewardship.
