Kew Gardens, Queens

Project snapshot

The Kew Gardens Improvement Association, Inc (KGIA) is excited about our latest venture, Project 360. Our goal is to enlighten our community about the rich history of Kew Gardens, a topic many residents are unfamiliar with. The 2025 Fiscal Year will see us orchestrating a myriad of full community history events. These include celebrating notable anniversaries like Maple Grove Cemetery’s 150th year and PS99’s 100th year, among others, with activities ranging from community picnics and square dances to history-themed scavenger hunts and workshops on nature, gardening, and geography. We’re creating a Children’s Historical Coloring Book featuring significant local sites, and each event will blend art, photography, music, poetry, and theater to make history tangible, fun, and relatable.
