Project snapshot

Kindred Bakery BK’s mission is to support the growth and development of low-income young people with developmental and/or learning disabilities in New York City through our successful culinary arts and baking workshops that launched in 2023. These 11-week workshops, held in Flatbush, Brooklyn, offer hands-on learning experiences for youth aged 12 to 24, utilizing the “I Do – We Do – You Do” teaching technique. We will teach valuable culinary skills while fostering independence, employability, and community engagement among our students. By selling their creations at pop-up sales, students gain real-world experience.
