Project snapshot
Caribeando provides a series of interactive music and dance workshops for older adults, teaching Caribbean rhythms and dances (Bomba, Plena, Guaracha, Cha-cha-cha, Merengue) rooted in African heritage. Sessions emphasize basic rhythms, steps, call-and-response, and communal engagement across five community centers, supported by ten volunteers. The project promotes cultural preservation, social connection, physical activity, and community resilience.
